Congenital heart surgeon named to head new CV institute

Charles D. Fraser Jr., MD, a congenital heart surgeon, has been named as the inaugural executive director of the Institute for Cardiovascular Health, according to a press release.
The institute is a collaboration between Ascension Texas and The University of Texas at Austin and its Dell Medical School, according to the release.
Fraser is also professor of pediatrics and surgery and founding chief of pediatric and congenital heart surgery at the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical affiliation between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin.
