
A systematic review showed foot orthoses improved knee function and sport and recreation function but had no effect on pain intensity, knee injury symptoms and knee-related quality of life in patients with patellofemoral pain syndrome.
Searching five electronic databases from inception to Oct. 17, 2021, two researchers independently extracted six peer-reviewed randomized controlled trials for meta-analysis with methodological quality assessment scores ranging from 7 to 10. Researchers only included studies in the analysis that compared the use of foot orthoses for treatment of patellofemoral
