New chair, board members named to ASN Kidney Health Initiative

The American Society of Nephrology announced a new chair for its Kidney Health Initiative, as well as seven new members to the board to directors, according to a press release.
After serving on the Kidney Health Initiative (KHI) for 5 years, Uptal D. Patel, MD, has become its chair. Patel’s experience includes clinical fellowships in pediatric and adult nephrology and health services research training. Moreover, Patel was a tenured associate professor at Duke University, as well as the director of the clinical and translational core of the Duke O’Brien Center for Kidney Research
