Google has struck a deal to embed its clinical software tools into a patient record-keeping system sold by Meditech, a major electronic health record vendor whose market share could put the tech giant’s technology in hospitals nationwide.

The partnership, announced at the HIMSS health technology conference Tuesday, will install Google’s search and summarization tools in Meditech’s Expanse record-keeping system, with the goal of making it faster and easier to find key information on the care of patients.
