Several advocacy groups have a beef with McDonald’s over its policy for using antibiotics in its supply chain.
The fast-food giant is being accused of backtracking on a commitment made four years ago to set targets for reducing the use of medically important antibiotics by the end of 2020. Late last year, the advocacy groups were upset that McDonald’s had not yet followed through, but they now argue the company has quietly altered its policy in way that targets are no longer being established at all.
