VIDEO: Beware of inconsistencies in measurements obtained with different biometers

In this video from the virtual European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons winter meeting, Ewa Mrukwa-Kominek, MD, PhD, warns against the use of different biometers when monitoring patients over time.
Significant differences in axial length and anterior chamber measurements were found by comparing two devices, the Argos (Movu) and the IOLMaster 700 (Carl Zeiss Meditec), in long and short eyes. Particularly in children, evaluation of myopia progression should rigorously be performed using the same device at each visit.
