NEW ORLEANS – Borderline personality disorder, which was once thought untreatable, can now be managed by generalists in typical practice settings, Lois W. Choi-Kain, MD, said here at the American Psychiatric Association annual meeting.
“Currently there are two systems of diagnosis in the DSM [Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition] including the traditional categorical system as well as the newly emerging alternative model of personality disorder diagnosis,” she said.
